President: jack xin
Jack Xin is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He received a Bachelor of Science in the discipline of Biopsychology, Cognition, & Neuroscience and researches how deficiencies in the cholinergic system affect attention. He is currently involved in a private psychiatric practice, providing interventions for treatment-resistant psychiatric conditions. In his free time, Jack likes to lift or play basketball at the gym, listen to podcasts, and explore the great outdoors.
vice president: madison konja
Madison Konja is a recent graduate from the University of Michigan. She majored in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience and minored in Biochemistry. Madison currently volunteers with the Crisis Text Hotline and conducts research in the MTwiNS lab. During her gap years before medical school, she hopes to shadow more physicians in various specialties and begin scribing. In her free time, Madison teaches herself the guitar and piano.
director of operations: viraj chegu
Viraj Chegu is a senior at the University of Michigan majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. He is originally from Fairfax County, Virginia. Outside of MED, he is an undergraduate researcher at the Chapman Lab, where he studies bacterial amyloid aggregation and phase separation properties. He also volunteers in his community by driving elderly people to healthcare appointments. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, traveling, and learning bass guitar.
director of finance: kaylee chan
Kaylee is a senior at the University of Michigan majoring in Public Health Sciences. Outside of MED, she works as a research assistant for the Conceptual Development Lab and is starting her new position as a volunteer co-coordinator for the university’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center. In addition, she volunteers as a health insurance counselor at a free clinic. In her free time, she loves going thrifting, binge watching bad reality T.V., and spending time outdoors.

Sanjana Kumar graduated from the University of Michigan this past April with a BS in Molecular Cellular Developmental Biology. Passionate about global healthcare accessibility, she will be pursuing a Fulbright this upcoming year and looks forward to continuing to connect with other passionate medical professionals around the world. In her free time, Sanjana enjoys baking, playing basketball, and doing yoga.

director of communications: roshan desai
Roshan is a senior at the University of Michigan studying Public Health sciences. Outside of MED, Roshan is the President of PULSE, a student organization focused on mental health and wellness on UofM campus. In addition, Roshan has worked in labs studying Covid-19 Bioinformatics and Food insecurity. In his free time, Roshan likes to play volleyball and tennis as well as spend time with friends and family!

university of michigan: pinkey lam

Pinkey Lam is a senior at the University of Michigan majoring in Public Health Sciences and minoring in Entrepreneurship and Computer Science. She is interested in the intersection across different fields of study. In her free time, she enjoys painting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

university of illinois: michael xin
Michael is a junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studying a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Chemistry. He is currently pursuing his medical aspirations through exploring hospital volunteerism and becoming involved in psychological research in how emotion affects behavior. He chartered MED’s Epsilon chapter at UIUC during the Spring semester of 2023. During the summer, Michael is passionate about running his Chinese Kung Fu school where he teaches his elementary school students various forms and self defense techniques. 
michigan state university: karina canning
Karina is a senior at Michigan State University majoring in Human Biology with a minor in Spanish and serves as the National Representative for the MED chapter at MSU. After graduating, Karina plans on attending Medical School back in her home state of Texas. Karina is a member of the honors college, a former Natsci Dean’s Research Scholar, a member of the Charles Drew Progam, and a CAMP scholar. During the school year, Karina served as a Resident assistant and will serve as an Undergraduate Learning Assistant. 
university of south florida: emma huffman
Emma Huffman attends the University of South Florida as a sophomore in the Biology B.S. with a Medical Biology Concentration program. She currently holds a position at Moffitt Cancer Center in the Clinical Research Unit concerning the development of clinical trials and their associated infusions. Emma dedicates herself to the community through Mu Epsilon Delta and hopes to create an environment of inclusivity and growth. Outside of academic ambitions, she enjoys hiking in the mountains, painting, and reading.
grand valley state university: elise vogelwede
Elise Voglewede is a Junior at Grand Valley State University majoring in Biomedical Sciences for Pre-Physician’s Assistant Studies. Alongside MED, Elise is a member of GVSU’s Honors College, a part of the Pre-Physician’s Assistant Club, and a lifetime Girl Scout volunteer. She is also employed at Corewell Health as a Nursing Technician. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AMHERST: JOSH DAVIS
Josh Davis is a junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is from Sharon, MA and he is majoring in biology on the pre-medicine track. He is the founder of UMass’s MED chapter. His goal was to create a group of like minded students to work towards a common goal. He can also dunk a basketball on a regulation sized net.
