BOARD OF DIRECTORS

PRESIDENT

 

Viraj Chegu is a recent graduate from the University of Michigan and a current postbac research fellow at the National Cancer Institute. His goal is to attend medical school. Before taking the role of President, he was the Director of Operations as well as a rush chair. He’s the founder and chief architect of the Mu Epsilon Delta Grants and Referrals Systems. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, hiking, and everything American Football.

VICE PRESIDENT

 

Elise Voglewede is the National Vice President of Mu Epsilon Delta. She formerly served as GVSU’s chapter representative as well as Co-President, Vice President, VP of Membership, and Volunteer Chair of the Grand Valley chapter. Elise is currently applying to PA schools! In her free time, she researches fossils from the middle Eocene time period, loves making new recipes, and enjoys a good audio book.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

 

Jonathan Temple is the National Director of Operations of Mu Epsilon Delta. He also served as the VP of Membership Development for the UIUC chapter.

Jonathan is currently a senior at the University of Illinois, studying Kinesiology and on the Pre-PA track. Over the summer he is working for Elite Ambulance in the Chicago-land area as an EMT. Outside of his studies, Jonathan enjoys writing short stories, traveling to South America, or enjoying the beautiful game (“Go Arsenal!”)

DIRECTOR OF RECRUITMENT

 

My name is Michael Xin, and I am the National Director of Recruitment and Expansion. Currently, I am a Senior focusing on a major in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry on the Pre-Medicine track. Two years ago, I founded MED’s Chapter at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and since then we have grown to a family of 60 remarkable, driven and active members.

My goal is to take what I’ve learned, and be the supportive advocate and guidance for each student who is committed to building a rising MED Chapter at their University. We hope that as a result of the efforts from the members on our Expansion Team, all of MED will eventually enjoy the advantages of having fellow Brothers/Alumni as our connections and resources throughout the country!

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Hi, I’m Dhruv and I am the National Director of Finance. I am currently a junior at the University of Michigan studying Neuroscience on the Pre-med track. Some things I like to do in my free time are hanging out with friends and family, listening to music, watching Netflix, playing sports with friends, and trying to work out.

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

My name is Lena Kim, and I currently hold the National Director of Communications position for Mu Epsilon Delta! I am currently a senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign majoring in Psychology on the pre-Physician’s Assistant track.

For this academic year, my goal is to bring more exposure to all of our Mu Epsilon Delta platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Website, etc.), and to provide more information and updates to both current and prospective members of our fraternity!

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN

My name is Mario Migaldi and I am I senior studying Neuroscience and Italian at the University of Michigan. I am currently applying to graduate school for an PhD in Clinical Neuroscience. Along with being the chapter representative, I also serve as President of MED at the University of Michigan.

MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY

Hi! I’m Amelia, the chapter representative for MED at Michigan State University! I absolutely love the experiences and friends I’ve had with MED and can’t wait to watch our chapter grow even more!

GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY

Hi I am a junior at Grand Valley working on a degree in exercise science on the pre-physical therapy track. Besides school she works as a medical assistant at a local doctor’s office and loves to watch sports and read in her free time.

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS URBANA-CHAMPAIGN

Simone Daly is a sophomore at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, majoring in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences with a focus on pre-medical studies. She serves as the president of the Epsilon chapter of Mu Epsilon Delta at UIUC and contributes to the national expansion team. Originally from Chicago, Simone also works at Lurie Children’s Hospital in the city. Outside of her academic and professional commitments, she enjoys playing the violin, traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA

My name is Pratulya and I am the MED chapter representative for the University of South Florida. I grew up in Maryland and I am hoping to go to med school in the future. I love music, playing tennis, Pilates, and cooking.

UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS-AMHERST

Eric Lo is a Senior at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst majoring in Biology with a minor in Sociology on the Pre-Dental track. Aside from being the President of the UMass Chapter, he is an intern at the Amherst Survival Center, involved in the Pre-Dental Society, and works as a dental assistant. He is passionate about healthcare accessibility, understanding disparities through his personal experiences, and volunteering at the Mission of Mercy. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, cooking, hiking, sewing, and fashion.

EXPANSION TEAM

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS URBANA-CHAMPAIGN

Aahana is a sophomore majoring in psychology on the pre-med track, hoping to specialize in neuropsychiatry. She is concentrating in behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, working as a research assistant at the Brain and Cognition lab. She is also an avid volunteer, spending time at her local hospice as well as the Crisis Hotline as a text supporter. Within MED, she is the DEI chair, and also involved with the Judiciary Board.

UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS-AMHERST

My name is Josh Davis, and I work under the National Expansion Committee. I am a senior at UMass Amherst on the pre-medical track pursuing my biology and a chemistry minor. I founded the UMass chapter of MED in 2023, and now I currently hold the VP Membership Development position. As someone who went through the process of starting a new chapter, I believe that I can really make a nationwide impact. I want to see MED sprouting up all around the country. It’s an honor for me to be on the national board of MED, especially as someone who started a chapter from the ground up.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA

My name is Micaela, and I’m from Lima, Peru. I’m pursuing a degree in health sciences with a focus on biology and healthcare administration, following a pre-PA track at the University of South Florida (USF). In addition to my studies, I serve as a clinic coordinator for a medical-student-led clinic on campus and work as a Peer Advisor Leader in USF’s New Student Office. I’m deeply passionate about healthcare accessibility and aim to make a meaningful impact by helping more people in my community access the care they need.

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN

Naisha is a junior at the University of Michigan majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Outside of MED, she works as a research assistant for a cancer research lab. In addition, she is part of a project team, which specializes in monitoring the release of IV fluids into patients and volunteers at the hospital. In her free time, she enjoys singing, spending time with family and friends, and reading.

Ethan is a junior at the University of Michigan studying Microbiology with plans to attend medical school. He looks forward to being able to make a global impact in medicine at some point in his career through international coursework. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors and watching movies as well as chilling with friends and family.

GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY

Brittany Pomierski is a junior majoring in Biomedical Sciences at Grand Valley State University. She currently works as a med tech at Sunset Senior Communities and is on a pre-PA track. In Fall 2023, she studied abroad at Korea University in Seoul, Korea and is actively learning Korean to utilize it in her career. When she is not studying, you can find her reading, cooking, or hiking.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA

I am a senior at the University of South Florida, majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Public-Health. I’ve conducted hypertension research in the Dominican Republic and completed my honors thesis on the use of artificial intelligence in teletherapy. After graduation, I plan to take a gap year to pursue a master’s in Medical Sciences and shadow my sister, a general practitioner in Honduras. Outside of academics, I enjoy going to the gym, playing soccer, listening to music, and exploring my passion for drawing and graphic design.
